हाम्रो मुलुक संस्कृति र सम्पदाका दृष्टिले विश्वमा नै अति सम्पन्न भए पनि यस क्षेत्रमा प्राज्ञिक कामको अझै पनि खाँचो छ । यसको समुुचित अध्ययन र अनुसन्धानबाट मात्र हाम्रो पहिचान स्पष्ट हुनाका साथै आर्थिक विकासको आधारशिला पनि यसैबाट तयार हुने गर्दछ । त्रि.वि. को संस्कृति केन्द्रीय विभागले मूर्त र अमूर्त दुवै प्रकारको संस्कृति र सम्पदाको उच्चस्तरिय अध्ययन र अध्यापन गराउनुका साथै अनुसन्धानको कार्यलाई पनि अनिवार्य गराएकाले यस विभागबाट राष्ट्रलाई आवश्यक दक्ष जनशक्ति उत्पादन हुँदै आएको छ । देशलाई आवश्यक पुरातत्वविद्, संस्कृतिविद्, लिपिविद्, मुद्राशास्त्री, संग्रहालयविद् र सम्पदाविद् उत्पादन गर्ने एउटामात्र विभाग यही हो । यस्ता विविध विषयवस्तुको पठनपाठन र अध्ययन अनुसन्धान गर्ने गराउने यस विभागले दिने शिक्षा व्यवहारिक, रोजगारमुलक र समयसापेक्ष भएकाले यस विषयमा अध्ययन अनुसन्धान गर्न सम्बद्ध सवैलाई आह्वान गरिन्छ ।

Systematic studies and research of these grand cultures and heritages of our country not only strengthen our identity but also help prepare a basis for the nation’s economic development. The Central Department of Nepalese History, Culture and Archaeology, Tribhuvan University provides a high-quality teaching and learning environment along with mandatory participation of students in new and innovative research. The department has been a key body to produce skilled and proficient human resources needed for the nation.
